T Minus 6 Days, and counting…
Ok, this is bad… Did you know that 50% of male students say they wash their hands but only 8% actually do? That’s CRAZY! Only 8% of male students actually wash their hands… That’s nasty!
Being the mother of 3 young children (4.5 years, 2 years, and 5 weeks), I have been discovering the good and bad of independence. When they are babies you just wish that sometimes they could go into the fridge by themselves and get food when they are hungry. Then when they are preschoolers getting into the fridge, and occasionally leaving it open, you wish they DIDN’T know how to get themselves food!
I had a “fun” experience recently with my 2 year old. (Yes, the one pictured above!) I sent her into the bathroom to wash her hands while I was taking care of some things in the kitchen. It had been a little while, and it occurred to me that she had been in there for a long time, and I still heard the water running. Fearing and sensing the worst, I went in the bathroom to see what was going on. Well, my fears were confirmed. She was in there washing her hands alright, but along with that, the sink and the floor were also getting a washing resulting in a stream of water trickling into our basement! I realized at that point that independence can and is a good thing, but then there are times and places when it is beneficial to have a little help. We can’t do everything ourselves. I am finding that out personally as I keep busy with the new baby in our house!!!
I think the same concept carries over into our churches and that’s why we’re doing what we’re doing. We’re here to partner along side you and your organization and be the support system that you need to keep you focused on your goals and missions. That’s why we say WASH YOUR HANDS of the accounting and administrative aspects of your church and allow us to come along side you and help support the infrastructure and back office responsibilities. We believe that it is one of the most important things you can do to keep your organization healthy and focused.
