So, I am 42 and I have NEVER been boring nor ever will be. I shop at thrift stores, have jet black hair, laugh till it hurts everyday and I love to collect rocks, drink red wine, talk about philosophy while wearing a tutu, and love my kids and husband with a sense of joy that permeates everything we do and say. Am I in need of “fitting in” no way! In a sense I am more successful than most with a 20 year marriage and 2 teenagers who still hold our hands, cry when they need to and tell us everything that matters to them. People my age act like they are enduring their life, hating their place in the world and expecting the worst from their marriage and their kids. Lighten up! Skip, jump, wear whatever the hell makes you feel beautiful and fun and most of all, love love love everyone, give it away and it will come back to you in the most amazing ways.

Life doesn’t have to be that way! I think, life is what WE make of it! Of course, God orchestrates everything, but it’s how we respond to that. In fact, perhaps Jesus presented himself like this? Perhaps Jesus WANTS us to be like a child?

I think we need to be real with ourselves… I think people try way too hard to be like society so that they can fit in and be “successful”. Perhaps you’ll be MORE successful if you’re ANTI adult? If we all have an “inner child” then wouldn’t we be real with ourselves if we let that child manifest itself in our daily lives? (By the way, I’m not negating the need for responsibility!)

Ive often thought about what changes when we tvrn 20. or 18. or even 15. all i want to do is have fun, however that may be. my brain hurts from all of lifes questions yet im only 16.
